Dr Reddy's Laboratories, the second largest Indian pharma company with net sales of Rs.9,674 crore, has launched ibandronate sodium tablets (150 mg), a bioequivalent generic version of Boniva tablets, the registered trademark of Roche Therapeutics Inc, in the US market.
The Boniva brand and generic had US sales of approximately $486 million for the most recent twelve months ending March 2012 according to IMS Health.
DRL's ibandronate sodium tablets in 150 mg are available in cartons of 3 blister packs containing one tablet each (once monthly dosing).
